Veterinarians

Douglas Brighton,DVM

Dr. Brighton is a graduate of Michigan State University, a member of the American, Ohio, and Toledo Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Dental Society. Dr. Brighton has practiced in Maumee since 1979. 

Susan Pontius,DVM

Dr. Susan Pontius graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. She is a member of the TVMA, AVMA, and Association of Avian Veterinarians. Her primary area of interest at Brannan Veterinary Clinic is Internal Medicine. Dr. Pontius’ family includes husband Tim, daughter Sarah, an architect in Chicago, sons David, in Veterinary College at OSU, and Daniel who is in pre-vet at OSU. The critters at home include two English Setters, a poodle, three cats, three horses and assorted chickens and birds. Dr. Pontius spends her spare time gardening, walking the dogs, riding and cleaning the barn.

Registered Veterinary Technicians

Sue 

Sue graduated from Columbus State Community College in 1992, with a Registered Veterinary Technician degree, and started working at Brannan’s in 1994. She is married to Tom and they have two boys, Eben and Camden. She has two dogs named Kylie and Claire, one cat named Bobbi, two guinea pigs named Rufus and Pip, a hamster named Caramel, and many fish. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, biking, camping, knitting, reading, and cheering on her boys at their sporting events. The most rewarding part of her job as a veterinary technician is taking care of critically ill patients, watching them recover, and go home to their families.

Deb 

Deb graduated from Michigan State University in 1990 and has been working at Brannan Veterinary Clinic for 13 years.  She has a cat named Mickey.  Deb is married and has a boy, Ryan, and twin girls, Megan and Jordan. In her spare time she enjoys jogging, in-line skating, and camping with her family.

Darlene

Darlene graduated at the top of her class from Stautzenberger in 1997. She has a fantastic husband who adores her and realizes he would be nothing without her. Darlene’s three sons are devoted to her, as they should be. She has four cats and a dog named Cooper, who is superior to other dogs in every way. Darlene’s life is one of harmony with the universe.

Receptionists

Cathy 

Cathy graduated from Northwest State Community College in May 1995, and has been working at Brannan Veterinary Clinic since November 1996. She has two cats (Mocho and Lydia); three dogs (Britta, Reese, and Callie); an African Gray parrot (Louie); four Haflingers; a registered paint; and a quarter horse (Tuffy), which her daughter shows. In her spare time, Cathy enjoys camping, reading, cross-country skiing, and is involved with the Henry County Draft Horse Club with her family.

Chris

Chris has been working as a veterinary receptionist for twenty-five years, twenty-two of them here at Brannan Veterinary Clinic. She currently lives in Michigan, on Posey Lake, with her two dogs and many pet birds.

Jaime

Jaime is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Stautzenburger College and has worked at Brannan’s since 2003. Jaime has lived in Maumee since 1999 with her husband, two kids, and two black labs.

Sandy

Sandy has been a receptionist at Brannan Veterinary Clinic since April 2001. She is married and has two kids. Sandy owns two dogs, a Golden Retriever and an English Springer Spaniel; and a pond full of fish. In her spare time, she enjoys attending hockey games, basketball games, and spending time with her family and dogs.

Dora

Dora has been an employee with Brannan Veterinary Clinic for ten years.  Dora is  married and has three step children and five grandchildren.  Dora has one cat named Molly.  In her spare time, she enjoys rubber stamping, scrap booking, crafts, and attending flea markets.

Pat

Pat graduated from the Toledo Academy of Beauty Culture in 1984, and has been working at Brannan’s for eighteen years. She is married and the mother of two sons, Johnathan and Benjamin, and a daughter named Jessica. Pat owns one cat, Jimmy, and a German Shepherd named Tanner. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking, and helping out at her kid’s school.

Dawn

Dawn has been working at Brannan Veterinary Clinic for more than 12 years.  She is currently single with four sons.  Dawn owns 3 German Shepherds, Cinder, Riverdance, Chilly Willy, and a Boston Terrier named Classy.  She also owns 2 cats named Kit Kat, and Fiona. 

Assistants

Linda

Linda has been working at Brannans for 15 years.  She is married with one daughter, and 4 grandsons.  Linda owns one German Shepherd "Tara" and one West Highland "Yoki". She also owns two cats named Lizzard and Snake. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her grandsons.
